Samoan Day at Faleasao Elementary

In lieu of the holiday, Flag Day, that occurs on the main island on April 16th, Manu'a celebrates Samoan Day. Our students have been practicing for weeks, singing Samoan and Maori (indigenous culture in New Zealand) songs and practicing traditional dances. They paraded into the school courtyard in three groups as they danced and chanted songs. They performed for two hours for parents and teachers. It was fantastic!
